I am pleased to recognize Parker Holt, a Utah native and 2020 graduate of Gallaudet University, for receiving the Pre-Law Writing Award from Gallaudet University.
Parker's award-winning essay examined the impact of Utah laws on the Deaf community and offered thoughtful analysis and recommendations regarding public policy and accessibility. His research demonstrated a strong commitment to understanding issues affecting Deaf individuals and contributing to meaningful discussion.
Parker's work received recognition within the Gallaudet community and was influenced in part by research materials from the Utah Deaf History website. In addition, he received the 2021 Undergraduate Award from the Department of Government and Public Affairs in recognition of his academic achievements.
