Author’s Note

We're excited to share that the Utah Interpreter Program (UIP) celebrated its 30th anniversary on May 6, 2002, at the wonderful Robert G. Sanderson Community Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing! To mark this special occasion, our talented, certified staff interpreter, Stephanie Gomes Belshe, put together a fantastic historical timeline of Utah interpreters. Take a moment to check out the UIP timeline below—it's a great way to reflect on our journey together!

We would love to hear from you if you have any updates or corrections! Feel free to email me at [email protected]. A huge thank you to Stephanie for all her dedication and hard work!

I also wanted to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Trenton Marsh, Utah's very first CDI interpreter! He did an incredible job organizing this event before retiring from his role as a staff interpreter and manager of the Utah Interpreter Program. After dedicating nineteen years to the Robert G. Sanderson Community Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, his contributions to the interpreting community have been invaluable. Thank you, Trenton, for everything you've done!

Enjoy!
